About
A kite only flies because something is holding the line.
Growing companies are the same. The faster they climb, the more they need a steady connection to the ground: clear contracts, fair processes, and someone who knows what to do when it gets windy. That’s the job we do.
We’ve been doing it for over 25 years, in IT companies, telecoms, NGOs, humanitarian organisations, call centres and law firms. The settings change. The fundamentals of treating people fairly and getting the paperwork right don’t.
How we work
Four habits we don’t compromise on.
- Plain English
- If a policy needs a lawyer to understand it, it isn't doing its job. We write for the people who have to follow it.
- Written down
- Every piece of advice comes with a short note of what we recommended and why, so decisions survive staff changes.
- Fair to both sides
- We work for the company, but a process that's unfair to the employee is a risk to the company too. We say so early.
- Honest about scope
- When something needs an employment lawyer rather than an HR adviser, we tell you, and we brief them so you don't pay twice.
What we won’t do
- Recruit or place candidates. We support your hiring; we're not an agency.
- Sell you HR software and call it advice.
- Hand you a 60-page handbook nobody opens.
- Bill by the minute for a quick question.
- Tell you what you want to hear when it's going to cost you later.
Tell us what’s going on.
Most conversations start with one awkward question. That’s fine. Send it over and you’ll hear back within one working day.
